About Humaps

Public data should be possible to understand.

Humaps gives people one place to research authoritative public data through conversation, maps and statistical tools — without hiding where an answer came from or how it was produced.

For citizens

Understand what is happening in your country, city or neighbourhood. Atlas explains data in plain language, with caveats and links to original sources.

For professionals

Policymakers, journalists and researchers get reproducible analysis: methods, parameters, retrieval times and assumptions accompany each artifact.

The operating principle

How an answer becomes defensible

  1. 1
    Ask a question
Use plain English and name any geography you need, from the whole world to a local neighbourhood.
  2. 2
    Atlas discovers and combines sources
Atlas finds the most authoritative sources for the topic and geography, then retrieves their data live.
  3. 3
    Statistical tools, not invented numbers
Trends, regressions and projections are computed with statistical libraries. Atlas must not fabricate numbers.
  4. 4
    Sourced output
Every map, chart or test identifies its publisher, dataset ID, retrieval time and license, with a link to the original source.

Privacy

  • No personal data in analyses. Humaps analyzes aggregated, publicly published data. Accounts and optional briefings store only the information needed to provide those services, such as an email address.
  • No advertising tracking. No third-party analytics, profiling cookies or advertising identifiers. Aggregate product analytics uses an opaque first-party session ID.
  • Publisher disclosure controls. Suppressed values remain empty in our visualizations; Atlas does not infer them.
  • Source licenses. Every artifact identifies the publisher's license and attribution requirements.

What Humaps is not

  • Not legal, medical, financial or policy advice.
  • Not a substitute for subject-matter review.
  • Not a prediction — projections carry uncertainty and assumptions.
  • Not an enforcement or automated decision-making instrument. Verify formal decisions against the original source.
  • Statistical association does not imply causation. Correlations must be interpreted with their stated caveats.

Our data promise

Live data
No mock data. Queries use real publisher APIs.
Real statistics
Dedicated libraries compute tests, trends and regressions.
Audit trail
Methods, parameters and retrieval times accompany artifacts.

Put the method to work.

Ask Atlas a real question or inspect the connected publishers before you begin.
